Ottmar Von Fuehrer [1900-1967] biography:

The long-time staff artist at the Carnegie Institute, Ottmar Von Fuehrer was a muralist, landscapist, and portraitist born in Austria. He did numerous murals for the Carnegie Institute including many backgrounds for dioramas.

He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the University of Vienna. He exhibited broadly in Pittsburgh, especially with the Watercolor Society, and served as a staff artist consultant for the Natural History Museum in Vienna and the Florida State Museum in Gainesville, Florida. He also traveled and painted in the western and southwest United States including landscapes in Wyoming, scenes in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.
