Shown in Prussian blue, Frederick the Great [1712-1786], signed a treaty in 1763 ending conflicts and ushering a new age of enlightenment and tolerance.  Common folk were welcome in positions only available to noble-born and slaves were set free.  These small paintings maybe a satirical comment on these new freedoms and their assimilation into the culture.
