DESCRIPTION:
Oliver Clare [1853-1927] was an English still-life painter from a family of painters whom specialized in still-life and floral subjects. Born in 1853, he was the son of still-life artist George Clare [1835-1900], of which his work closely resembles.
Oliver Clare was commissioned by a Birmingham firm “Health Food Stores” to paint still-lives to be reproduced on postcards and posters.
