ABOUT HECTOR GARBATI
Hector Garbati (Pietrasanta, Italy, November 30, 1914 – Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1989) was an artist who specialized as a sculptor in wood and clay, original Italian who came to the city of Buenos Aires in the mid-twentieth century, where he became a renowned artist.
He studied and exhibited in his hometown, once in Argentina and its art recognized substance with the essence of the pampas with.
Garbati mainly carved works related to the traditionalism of the Argentine pampas, where gauchos, Indians and horses were the recurring themes of his works. Born in Pietrasanta province di Lucca in Tuscany Region after World War II as an immigrant he is traveling to Buenos Aires.

Having grown up in a village of workers in the marble for its proximity to Massa-Carrara and the caves of marbleMonte Altissimo where the white marble extracted with which Miguel Angel gave birth to La Piedad , once arrived to Argentina to not having marble with which to work and being available wood is beginning his works in this material.
