Known for his Trompe l’Oeil, and landscape paintings, and also for his work as an art forger, Ferdinand Danton, Jr. died in New York in 1939. His last known wife was Henrietta Danton.

He had four brothers and at least three sons. He is more famous as an art forger than as a Trompe and landscape painter.

Ferdinand Danton died in poverty. He spent two years in prison and used at least four names. He is a known forger of Peale paintings.
