DESCRIPTION:
Similar in flavor to the works of Wilfredo Lam (1902-1982), Clifford Edgar Jones (1915-1975) work reflects the early abstract movement in America.  The works are figurative but geometricized and increasingly abstract and fractal.  Picking up aspects of the Cubist movement and combining it with the colors and compositions of WPA murals and adding in an undertone of Social Realist aesthetic and tone.  All of these influences can be clearly seen in Chickens for sale the painting be offered.
