Inspired by the German example of an exposition of craft, the young king of Italy, Victor Emanuel III opened the 1902 Turin Exposition of Decorative Arts and Crafts. The expo’s grand scale was a tour de force exhibition of Italian arts and craftsmanship. Announcing the event was an original large scale lithograph by artist Leonardo Bistolfi [1859-1933]. Bistolfi was multi-faceted artist, painting, drawing and sculpting. The exhibition poster leans into the popular Art Nouveau movement and this example is an original and has been professionally remounted and preserved.
