Anne Graile Helioff [1910-2001] was an English-American painter. She studied at the Art Students League in New York under Homer Boss [1882-1956] and Yasuo Kuniyoshi [1893-1953]. She worked as an apprentice at the Woodstock Art Association at Woodstock, New York.
She became Secretary and later President of the Woodstock Artist Association, Director of the American Society of Contemporary Artists, and Director of the New York Society of American Women Artists.
This painting, similar to the style of her mentor Kuniyoshi, is likely during her time with the artist either late 1930s or early 1940s.
